Last Friday, July 29, 2022, our Karlsruhe office turned into a mini-campus for a few hours. We at THE MAK'ED TEAM were all very excited when four students and their program director, Prof. Dr. Susanne Steimer from the University of Applied Management (HdWM) in Mannheim, arrived at our office. They were there to present their practical project, which also served as an examination. For this project, the students dedicated themselves to the topic of "Creating a Sustainability Check for SMEs" based on a brief from THE MAK'ED TEAM. Throughout the process, they were actively mentored by THE MAK'ED TEAM and developed our case study with great dedication. In their final presentation, the students used a clearly structured roadmap to demonstrate what a sustainability check for medium-sized companies across all industries could look like. They ultimately presented a compelling sustainability check for SMEs that can be implemented in various formats, ranging from a short check-up to an individual workshop. Using well-chosen questions and a traffic-light evaluation system, the check clearly shows companies how sustainable they currently are in specific areas.
Following the thoroughly convincing and very clearly structured presentation, the group addressed remaining questions and engaged in a lively discussion. THE MAK'ED TEAM has been collaborating with HdWM since 2021, with a thematic focus on sustainable corporate management. We were very impressed by this joint project and are already looking forward to the next one.
