A mid sized textile services company recognised the need to put its HR structures on a professional footing and chose SAP SuccessFactors as the central solution.

The aim was to standardise HR processes across several sites in three countries, to reflect the country specific requirements in full and at the same time to reduce manual effort considerably. The basis for this was the HR management system SAP SuccessFactors.

Before the rollout we analysed the current situation and defined the target state. The results allowed the scope and use of SAP SuccessFactors to be determined. In the first project phase the Employee Central, Recruiting, Onboarding and Learning modules were introduced. That laid a foundation for operational efficiency at every level as well as central strategic steering. Introducing a system like this, however, is far more than a digitalisation project. It is a deep organisational and cultural change that affects every level, from the management team to employees on the shop floor.

From system project to cultural change

To this end a cross country project management structure was set up to coordinate the rollout in all three countries. Together with the company and the technical implementation partner we defined the requirements and identified the relevant interfaces in order to integrate SAP SuccessFactors into the existing system landscape. To secure high acceptance and actively bring employees into the new system, change management was set up and supported by THE MAK'ED TEAM.

The technical implementation covered system testing, the introduction of a ticket system for HR and the provision of extensive training and communication material.

Today the company benefits from consistent, transparent HR processes across all its sites. A detailed, structured data basis makes well founded decisions possible, for example in recruitment or people development. There are also reports that serve as the basis for the annual sustainability reporting. At the same time, automating many manual activities has created room for strategic HR work.

THE MAK'ED TEAM took on not only the project lead but also the role of strategic companion and active delivery partner, from process analysis through change management to implementing and rolling out the new HR system in the three countries.
